FUNDRAISING EVENT GIVES BIRTH TO A NEW BUSINESS

Fien Jannet is a head of household with three dependent children with whom she has been barely surviving as she has been engaged in vegetable farming to fend for her family.

However, the Transformed Livelihood intervention put a smile on her face as she was able to operate a new business after the fundraising event.

Jannet, though a married woman with children, has been very consistent and committed throughout the intervention period. She used her relatives and friends to raise over CFA 70,000 (SEK 1068.06) during the fundraising event organized by MEPCAM in August 2021.

With this money, she has been able to rent a business site for 6 months, where she hopes to set up her business of designing African dresses as part of her passion to promote her culture and a habit of decent dressing among her Cameroonian population and beyond.

Presently, she receives commands for dresses which she designs from home and supplies to her customers and as a result of this, she has been able to take care of her children’s school and health needs besides other basic family exigencies.

“I am trusting God to see this business grow to a training center for many other people who are struggling with life. It has always been my desire to support others with what God has blessed me with, and MEPCAM has been such a blessing to me and my family.” Jannet said.
